Roswitha BRIEGER

Roswitha BRIEGER

Roswitha was born on 4th March 1964 in Graz / Austria.

Roswitha Brieger is above all a passionate MUM and animal lover.  Raising her two children together with her husband, her son named Dominique who is currently studying in Paris and her daughter Natalie, who is studying in London, was an enormously fulfilling and rewarding task. Nonetheless, for all who know about raising children, it is a fulltime job and requires a strong commitment. Travelling the world at the same time with her husband, children and animals (Graz, Vienna, Munich, Brussels, Nairobi, Paris, Canberra/Australia, Brussels, Vienna and now Pristina) was sometimes testing her organizational skills but enormously enriching on the other hand.

Roswitha has studied Psychology, specializing her counseling skills based upon the Carl Rogers method. In Australia she has worked as counselor in a Suicide Intervention center. Roswitha also holds an MBA degree.  She has done a research paper on the implications of different parenting styles and household situations on the wellbeing of children.

Having learned to juggle multiple tasks at the same time, Roswitha spent several years in different positions in the private sector and also ran her own little business. During the Austrian Presidency of the EU she worked for the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU in Brussels. Before coming to Kosovo she was working for UNIDO at Human Resource Management branch in Vienna.

In addition Roswitha regularly engaged also in volunteer work (e.g. counseling of women, work with street children, as a youth worker or work at AWG-American women’s group in Paris and for different animal support institutions and now as president of OeKG).

In Pristina Roswitha intends to contribute to further intensifying the bilateral relations between Austria and Kosovo by helping to establish the Austrian-Kosovo-Society and by getting involved in the organization of the first Viennese Ball. As animal lover she is member of several animal protection organizations and has now found in Kosovo a huge field to engage herself not only for dogs and cats but also for bears.

Roswitha’s personal interests: dancing, skiing, swimming, tennis, reading and traveling
