13th to 15th May 2014: Study Tour of the Diplomatic Academy Vienna

They received a briefing by Petrit SELIMI, Deputy Foreign Minister followed by Illir DEDA, member of Vetevendosje and the morning session ended with a presentation from Thomas MÜHLMANN, Chief of Staff at EULEX.

Then, for the first time, the students visited the KFOR Camp, where they had the opportunity to have lunch together with the Austrian soldiers. After lunch KFOR Deputy Commander BG Anton WESSELEY briefed them about KFOR, his duties, etc.

But also some cultural events could not be missed, even though the weather was very cold and rainy. They visited together with Ms. Monika ZACH, Deputy Head of Mission from the Austrian Embassy, the Monastery of Gracanica, then the Gazimestan Monument and the cultural part ended with a visit to Sultan Murat's Tomb.

In the evening the Austrian Ambassador Johann Brieger and his wife Roswitha Brieger (President of OeKG - Austrian Kosovo Association) invited them for a reception at the Austrian Ambassador's Residence, where they had the opportunity to talk to international representatives working in Pristina and Kosovo Government representatives.

As already mentioned before the weather was so bad and the Austrian Ambassador's  residence is too small to host so many people, therefore the event took place outside and KFOR was so nice to help out with a military tent, so that the students and the other guests didn't get wet. Thank you so much.

On Thursday, 15th of May 2014, the students will continue their study trip and visit Prizren before going further to Tirana.
