11th to 20th July 2012 European Summer Music Academy in Pristina


From 11th to 20th July 2012 European Summer Music Academy in Pristina under auspice of EUSR Samuel Zbogar was taking place in Pristina. Students of Classical music from Kosovo and abroad followed master classes led by outstanding professors form Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Kosovo in the following categories:

Piano – Jaromir Klepáè (Czech Republic), Lejla Pula (Kosovo);

Cello – Detlef Mielke (Austria), Michal Kaòka (Czech Republic);

Saxophone – Oto Vrhovnik (Austria);

Violin – Sihana Badivuku-Hoxha (Kosovo);

German vocal song – Caroline Merz (Germany) and Desar Sulejmani (Germany);

The master classes were held in the premises of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prishtina (Str.Mother Theresa), the “Prenk Jakova” music school (Str. Zenel Salihu No.74) and the “ART” music school (Str.Lidhja Prizrenit no.18) and were open to the public. 

On 14th July 2012 at 19h30 a Concert for Mitrovica by the professors of the academy were successfully held in the Theatre of Mitrovica. On 15h and 18th July 2012 two students’ concerts took place one in the National Theatre and one in the Red Hall in Pristina. Special highlights were the GALA Concert (17th July 2012) and the Festive concert (19th July 2012) of the best participants of the academy and closing ceremony and award winners in the Red Hall in Pristina. The Admissions to all concerts were free.

It was a great success and it is hoped that this European Summer Music Academy will take place next year as well.
